Pirates of the Caribbean in the romance novels
Pirates have always been romantic figures perfectly fit for exciting adventure stories. Romance authors also recognize the allure of the dashing rogues. Probably due to the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, more romance novels set in the Caribbean have been published in the recent years. These stories are guaranteed to warm you up on a cold winter day!
Amanda McCabe - High Seas Stowaway
The most recent book published, "High Seas Stowaway" is the third of the trilogy, featuring two characters from the previous books, A Notorious Woman and A Sinful Alliance.
"Balthazar Grattiano, captain of the infamous ship Calypso and renowned seducer of women, has just walked into the one tavern in all of Hispaniola he should have avoided. For Bianca Simonetti, his sworn enemy, is the owner--and she has vengeance on her mind.
But before she can take her revenge she is captured by this rogue's kiss. Her only chance for retribution is to stow away on his ship for a passionate adventure that will either kill them--or bring them together once and for all!"
There's also a related novella in the same setting with an enigmatic secondary character, Shipwrecked and Seduced (available in an ebook format only from eHarlequin or other stores).
Michelle Beattie - What a Pirate Desires
"Only Luke Bradley knows the secret of his fellow pirate Sam Steele: Sam is actually Samantha, a woman driven by revenge.
Though Sam sails her stolen ship under a pirate flag, there is no creature more loathsome to her than a scalawag. As they journey across the unpredictable Caribbean Sea, Luke finds that making a criminal pay for his sins is second to the quest to win Sam’s heart."
Rona Sharon - My Wicked Pirate
"Azure-eyed Alanis was by far the most exquisite treasure ever claimed by the black pirate known as the Viper, but his motives went deeper than his silken promise to ravish the feisty Yorkshire heiress. Commanding the waters of the Caribbean was his means to an end: reclaiming his birthright - and his blood debt against those who had betrayed him. Then He Gave Her Nights Of Wicked Pleasure...Comfortably betrothed to a nobleman, Alanis never imagined the heady emotions involved in the true games of seduction - games this blackguard seemed to thoroughly enjoy playing with her. Swept up into an adventure that soon revealed a gentleman and kindred spirit beneath the ruthless veneer of a privateer, Alanis began to soften towards her enigmatic captor, as her pride and her heart fell under his erotic spell... "
Cheryl Sawyer - Siren
"A sizzling talent never before published in the U.S., Cheryl Sawyer delivers an epic that explodes with passion, intrigue, and war. From the pristine beaches of the Caribbean islands to the colorful streets of New Orleans, Siren cuts through waves of high-seas adventure, desperate desire, and political intrigue-and will leave readers breathless in its wake. "
Marsha Canham - The Iron Rose
In this book the pirate is actually the heroine, a worthy daughter of the characters from Canham's earlier .
"After the Spanish galleon attacked the English merchant ship, Varian St. Clare was shocked to learn that the captain of the privateer who saved him was Juliet Dante, daughter of legendary Pirate Wolf...
Varian had been sent by the King to tell Juliet's father about a new peace treaty between Spain and England. Juliet agrees to bring Varian to her father-but only as her hostage. But as the attraction between Juliet and Varian builds, and as intrigue swirls, the danger of the high seas will match the danger of surrendering to desire... "
